LAB-DC3: A laboratory testing machine for biocompatible materials
Type: Laboratory stress testing machine
Customer: University of Patras, Laboratory of Biomechanics and Biomedical Engineering
Application: Dynamic stress testing of biocompatible materials
Description:
A laboratory machine for conducting dynamic stress fatique tests to biocompatible materials used as osteal inserts for bone restoration applications.
The machine is capable of applying a dynamic thrust of up to 3kN simultaneously to five specimens that contain living tissue.
The waveform and amplitude of the deformation is programmable through our specially designed software and control unit while all experiment data is constantly collected to produce stress-deformation curves.
To sustain living cells, the machine chamber is kept in a temperature of 37C while a nutrient solution circulates all the time through a peristaltic pump.
